It looks like they’re filming TVD at the Gilbert House location. Flashbacks?

"I want variety. I want real people. I want to create the true drama of real life and real people. Because real people are terrifying and sad and wonderful. Real life is just horrific and amazing."

—  Alice Oseman, author of Solitaire

chronicintrovert:

lauren & i were talking about this yesterday though. i am never going to be able to write a novel like solitaire ever again. i know this because every time i read through it, i find more things i hate about it. when book 2 comes out, i reckon i’ll lose some of the fans that i gained from solitaire. i don’t think people are going to like it, in general, as much as solitaire. because book 2’s not going to be like solitaire at all. solitaire might be honest and gritty but it’s also wistful and idealistic and it has characters that force you to love them. book 2 isn’t going to be like that. i want book 2 to be totally real. i want it to horrify people and leave them angry at things and i want them to love and hate the characters naturally. there are things that a writer can do to force readers to love characters - they can make them say things and look a certain way and people will instantly love them. i want to work at making readers love ‘normal people’ and appreciate them for their flaws, even if they don’t speak in riddles and metaphors and highly intellectual language or are tall and charming or are deeply in love. people are wonderful even when they’re not amazing
